Scott McLean joins CNN Newsource as a national correspondent based in Washington, D.C.
McLean joins CNN Newsource from CTV News in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he was a reporter and anchor researching and presenting original and investigative stories for broadcast and online, including investigations of the Calgary Police. Prior to CTV News, McLean was an anchor and reporter for Global News in Vancouver and Regina. While there, he covered the 2012 U.S. Election and produced a long-form investigation of the provincial jail system in Saskatchewan.
McLean garnered an Honorable Mention from the Radio Television Digital News Association for ‘Becoming Snowbird 6,’ a special program that followed a rookie pilot training to join Canada’s iconic Snowbirds. McLean earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from York University in Toronto. He is conversant in French and Arabic.
